emergency Dentistry in Perkasie

what is a dental emergency?

We consider a dental emergency to be any oral health problem that is causing major pain and discomfort or oral bleeding, and that cannot be treated on your own.
A few common dental emergencies include cracked or broken teeth, loose and knocked-out teeth, serious toothaches, pulled-out or damaged dental work, and foreign objects lodged between the teeth.

Immediate care is essential for treating your condition if you have a dental emergency. Failing to get help right away could result in the death or loss of your tooth or other complications related to your condition. The sooner you get assistance, the better.

If you are experiencing an emergency and think you need immediate help, you need to contact Perkasie Dental Loft immediately to get help. Same-day emergency dentistry will help you get relief from your pain and discomfort.

What counts as a dental emergency?

If you’re experiencing any kind of oral pain or discomfort or your mouth is bleeding, you’re having an emergency. That means a lot of different things count as emergencies.

Dental trauma is a common emergency, and you should get help for things like knocked-out teeth, cracked teeth, and cuts to your mouth right away. But other things like pulled-out fillings, toothaches, food or objects lodged between the teeth, and many other conditions are also emergencies.

At Perkasie Dental Loft, we’re always standing by to help you with your emergency dental issues, so contact us at (267) 517-6670 to discuss your situation and get same-day or after-hours care at our office.

i'm not sure if it's an emergency. What should I do?

Call us! Even if you think your issue is not an emergency, it’s good to be sure. So give us a call at (267) 517-6670, and you can discuss your dental problem with our team and Dr. Cerdas. Depending on the situation, we may recommend a same-day appointment, or you may be able to wait longer to get care.

When in doubt, though, you should always ask a dentist. So make sure to call us if you think you’re having an emergency. Even if you’re not sure, it’s better to be safe than sorry!

How long do I have to get help for a knocked-out tooth?

For the best results, a knocked-out tooth should be replaced within 1 hour of being knocked out. However, if the tooth has been properly stored, it may be possible to save it even if it’s been out of your mouth for up to 2 hours.

If your tooth is knocked out, don’t waste any time. Recover it immediately, put it into a container of cold milk to keep it moist, and call us at (267) 517-6670. Time is of the essence, so make sure to see Dr. Cerdas ASAP. Don’t waste time treating your pain and discomfort on your own. Come to Perkasie Dental Loft immediately.

should I go to the ER For Emergency dental care?

arrow icon

It’s rarely a good idea to go to the ER for a dental issue. The only exception is a dental issue that you truly believe is life-threatening. For example, if you break your jaw in a car accident, or you are experiencing serious facial swelling that is making it hard to breathe or swallow, you should call 911 and go to the ER immediately.

But most emergency dental issues, such as a pulled-out crown or a cracked tooth, are not life-threatening. And most emergency rooms don’t have dentists on staff to deal with them, so you may be turned away. Even if you can get care from a dentist at the ER, you’ll pay a lot more than you would if you saw an emergency dentist in Perkasie, such as Dr. Cerdas.

So don’t wait. If you have an emergency, just call us at (267) 517-6670 to discuss your issue, and find out the best way to get help for your condition in Perkasie.
